Singing Hands Children's Party
This year’s Singing Hands shows were held in Sunderland. We decided to run two separate shows this year, one for children’s songs and rhymes and the other as a pop party. Both shows were a great success. If you were there, we hope you agree.

Singing Hands Pop Party
This year, as well as children’s songs and rhymes, Singing Hands gave us a pop party for older children and adults to enjoy. It really was a non stop party with lots of singing and dancing, as well as signing our favourite songs.
What a fantastic time we had! We can’t wait for next year.
Tinarts & CLFT
We created our dance in a few hours with Tinarts and amazed the audience when we performed at the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust Show at the Customs House South Shields on Sunday 20th October.
The whole show was full of wonderful talent and we are so grateful to CLFT for inviting us to be part of their very special show again.
Summer Visit to Hall Hill Farm
We always have lots of fun visiting Hall Hill Farm in the summer holidays and this year was no exception. 35 families came along and it was also great to see DSNE members of all ages enjoying their day out.
Everyone spent the day enjoying the sunshine, feeding animals and having fun on the tractor ride.
Thanks to kind donations, we were able to provide free entry to children and adults who have Down’s syndrome, and subsidise tickets for all of their family members.
Pilates Plus
Robert and Stella have created their very own Pilates moves. Stella’s super twist and Robert’s double biceps are now part of our regular sessions.

Marty Live
In September our party gang were all excited to see Marty in person after another year on Zoom.
There was a packed dance floor all evening as we enjoyed a medley of zoom party favourites, followed by Marty’s Moorside Elvis.
There was lots of hip swaying and air guitars with spot prizes for the best Elvis moves. We had a lovely buffet and a lucky ticket draw.

Ceilidh
What a super night we had at our 21st Anniversary Year Ceilidh. ‘The Hedgehog’s Skin’ band were fabulous and called all the steps and moves to a floor full of happy dancers throughout the night. We had lovely hot beef and pork rolls from Gosforth Civic Theatre catering and plenty of refreshing drinks from the bar. There was a raffle, lottery numbers draw and lucky ticket prize, all proceeds helping to fund the fun filled evening. The dancing was exceptional, everyone had to create their own moves too, we had piggy backs. ballroom steps and lots and lots of spinning around.
Katelyn Mckie Triathlon
“On the 15th September 2024, I completed a Triathlon which includes swimming, cycling and walking.
I swam 3 lengths, cycled 3 laps and finished walking 3 laps of the track.
I felt happy that I have done this, and I would like to do it again in the future.
I have also met my idol Danny Adams, and had my picture taken with him.”
September North of Tyne Disco
On Friday 27th September we held our regular 18+ Disco in Newcastle. It was a great evening with everyone up on the dance floor and showing off all their moves. The DJ played a great set of music and everyone including parents and carers were up dancing. We danced to classic songs such as from Grease, to party classics such as Macarena and we ended the night with slow dances. We had songs we all sang too from The Greatest showman and we played our air guitars to rock music.
It was a great evening to catch up with friends and to meet new ones. Thank you to our volunteers who organise this event. We look forward to our next one in December
Activity Day at Dukeshouse Wood in Hexham
A lovely day was had in September at Dukeshouse Wood in Hexham for a number of our members and their families / carers. Thank you to the staff for leading our day.

Art Workshop
In September Karen from Tiddly Painters led us all through a fantastic art workshop. She helped us to paint fabulous art work of the lady in red on the beach at Bamburgh Castle. Karen led us step by step through the stages of painting such a stunning piece of art. Everyone did amazing and the end results were fantastic. We look forward to our final art workshop of the year in November.
Travellers Rest, Slaley
There was fun, friendship,bingo, good food, fabulous music and dancing, for 48 people at the Travellers Rest Slaley in September.

Upcoming Events
North of Tyne Disco
Another fun filled evening with lots of dancing and catching up with friends at the North of Tyne Disco. Great to see so many of our members attending.
Next disco is December 13th, make a Christmas hat or wear Christmas jewellery or t shirts.

Christmas Cake Decorating Workshop
